The Jack Luskay Memorial Scholarship for School Librarians Fund was established to help practicing and prospective school librarians flourish in their field of work.

Jack Luskay served as a librarian at the Ligonier Valley School District before he began teaching at Clarion University of Pennsylvania. He worked tirelessly to bring American Library Association accreditation to the university’s Department of Library Science. He helped found the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association, where he served as president and vice president. He was also integral in creating the organization’s annual conference.

Throughout his life, Luskay displayed the characteristics of an effective teacher and was described by his colleagues in the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association as “a model of human dignity.” This fund exemplifies his commitment to librarianship and his mission to improve literacy among all students.
