Elmer G. and Gladys Schade Klaber Fund
Elmer, one of the oldest practicing trial lawyers of his day, and Gladys lived in Mt. Lebanon. He was still working at the time of his death on Dec. 23, 1990, at the age of 84. Gladys died on June 20, 2006, just a month short of her 100th birthday.
A 1926 graduate of the University of ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø and 1929 graduate of University of ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Law School, his dedication to the profession of law inspired two sons and three grandsons to follow in his footsteps. He also worked downtown as a Claims Manager with The General Accident Insurance Company of America.
Elmer was a loyal Pitt alumus who never missed a football game. He also served as a Trustee and Elder of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Mt. Lebanon for 55 years.
The fund was announced during a party celebrating the couple's 55th wedding anniversary. It is dedicated to the charitable purposes of ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø with preference during their lifetime to charitable organizations in which they expressed an interest. It is now an unrestricted fund addressing some of the most pressing needs of the community.
