Emilie (Emily) Margaret Roseburgh was the daughter of William Jr. and Emily Kelly Roseburgh. She was born in 1896 in Allegheny, PA. Emilie, a member of the Oakmont Country Club, was very active in ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø society, serving as a hostess to luncheons and attending receptions and parties regularly.

Emilie was a premier golfer in Western Pennsylvania. She won the first Women's Western Pennsylvania Golf Classic and her talent on the green was known well enough that when she lost her title during the next tournament in September 1930, the news made the front page of the ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Press, which called the loss "a startling upset."

Emilie never married, but instead devoted her attention to golf, travel, and her friends. In 1919 at the age of 25 she travelled to and from Brest, France by boat, returning through Ellis Island. In 1953, just 6 years before her death, she adventured to Maitland, Florida, to visit her friend Mrs. Sara Fownes Wadsworth, who had been a member of the American Women's Golf Team.

Emilie established this fund in memory of her mother to support geriatric research or medical care of non-institutionalized elderly persons. She particularly favored the work being done by the Visiting Nurses Association of Allegheny County, an organization that is part of a national association that brings nurses, and health and hospice providers to private homes, assisting those over the age of 65 to remain in their home as long as possible.
