Reginald C. and Helen S. Harvey Fund
Helen Stevenson Harvey was passionate about her work at ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø, where she spent 21 years, and the lives that she saw changed through charitable giving.
After her husband passed away in 1988, Helen felt it was time to establish a fund on behalf of herself and her husband Reginald. The joy that this brought her is best told in Helen's own words in a letter that she wrote to the Foundation at the time:
"ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø has been close to my heart since I commenced employment and worked for many years as the Assistant Director, Finance and Administration. For twenty-one years I worked for the ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø Foundation with genuine love and appreciation for its mission, the members of the Distribution Committee and staff. With the separation of the staff members, which is now taking place, I want to leave a part of myself with the Foundation by giving back some of the love I received just for the privilege of working and sharing in such a wonderful mission."
"The dollar figure does not compare to the total of many of the larger funds, but I am sure that no other fund was ever established with as much love and appreciation that exists in my heart."
Helen passed away on March 7, 2011, at the age of 88. In keeping with her wishes, the fund is unrestricted, reflecting her commitment to building the Foundation's discretionary assets and offering support where the needs are greatest and are likely to have the most impact.
