ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups whose aim is to foster a diverse, inclusive workplace. In the case of the ERG formed by employees of Microsoft’s ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø location, this extends to the community.

The members of this local ERG came together and created a scholarship which embraces the company’s mission of personal empowerment. The scholarship is awarded to deserving high school students seeking to build careers in science and technology. These employees recognize that supporting a diverse student population in their STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) studies builds on Microsoft's current inclusive hiring practices, creating a diverse group of possible future employees.

Specifically, the ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø ERG Scholarship Fund aims at enabling ÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø area students with disabilities and/or financial needs to go to college, ultimately decreasing bias and changing the demographics of qualified professionals in these targeted fields.
